Program Asst / Administrative Specialist I (Temporary)

The State of North Carolina is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Edward Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) Criminal Justice. This temporary position involves data collection, organization, and providing technical assistance to subrecipient agencies while maintaining compliance with relevant federal guidelines and state statutes.

Responsibilities

Create graphic publications and coordinate data collection from agencies
Assist with Data Advisory Group meetings
Work to create a data landscape for criminal justice and establish justice data for counties and agencies
Assimilate and organize both printed and electronic information
Apply knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities
Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action, as well as explain and interpret information to clients/customers and staff
Effectively use correct grammar, organization, and structure in written and oral form with the ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience
Process and review data for compliance and provide resources and technical assistance to subrecipient agencies
Plan, attend regular calls, meetings, workshops and conferences with state and federal partners to remain informed on Criminal Justice and SCIP related issues
Maintain expertise in Criminal Justice and other relevant federal guidelines, state statutes, and case law affecting federal grant programs

Required

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent business organizational skills
High level interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
Experience compiling information into a readable format
Experience with multitasking projects and project orientation of multiple assignments
Highly proficient collaborating within workgroups, both internal and external partners
