Iowa State University (ISU) is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Program Assistant III position. This role assists the Treasurer’s Office in maintaining accurate records of payments and provides information and advice regarding payment processes to students, parents, and authorized third parties.

Responsibilities

Drafting letters to financial institutions for validation of authorized account signatories
Assisting with daily banking processes and settlements
Maintaining databases for on-campus merchant credit card program, monthly fee reconciliation, and outgoing wires
Monitoring the Treasurer’s Office general email to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests
Assisting in maintaining the Treasurer’s Office website to ensure information is current
Researching and providing necessary documentation to claim University’s unclaimed property held by various States
Supporting internal and external senior level personnel as well as ensuring diplomatic proceedings with complex financials impacting the University

Required

High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience
Analytical, innovative, professional, organized
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well alone and as a member of a team
Knowledge of fund accounting, NACHA rules and other banking processes
Ability to communicate, advise, and negotiate with a diverse group of staff, students, and the general public regarding procedures, rules, and regulations
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to diffuse a volatile individual and/or situation
Ability to effectively problem solve
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Preferred

Experience with and ability to interpret State and Federal regulations governing privacy rules, such as FERPA, Red Flag Rule, and SSN privacy regulations
Experience in higher education, dealing with financial aid and registrar's office processes and procedures
Experience with banking processes, procedures, rules and regulations
