Accounting Specialist (D7 112726)
The Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking an Accounting Specialist to perform entry-level accounting and administrative support for efficient court operations. The role involves processing payments, managing case information, and communicating with the public and government agencies.

Responsibilities
Record financial transactions and reconcile accounts
Perform disbursement transactions and record disbursement activities
Prepare regular, accurate financial records and reports
Review daily bank entries and general ledger activity
Ensure the integrity of accounting ledgers by practicing control procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma (or high school equivalency diploma)
Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, GAAP, laws, and best practices
Understanding of the Iowa Judicial Branch's various court processes and procedures
Ability to secure confidential information
Ability to use financial software and tools
Ability to use a 10-key calculator
Effective listening and communication skills
Bookkeeping skills
Cash handling skills
Customer service skills
Attention to detail
Preferred
Advanced education in a relevant field like accounting, finance, or business administration
Experience with court or the legal process or terminology
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and online meeting programs
Experience securing confidential and sensitive information
Experience in evaluating information and compliance with standards
