Sr. Manager, Data Center Project Engineering

Responsibilities
Lead the design of AI/HPC enable datacenters from concept to operations including establishment of a standard design for full-turn key data centers and well as core and shell only builds ranging from 100 MW to 300 MW IT
Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders including internal teams, contractors, regulators, and customers
Be technical POC with tenants and development partners throughout the data center development lifecycle
Manage project lifecycle activities: concept design, test-fit, permitting, engineering/design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning
Oversee and review engineering design packages, ensuring compliance with industry codes, environmental regulations, and company standards
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and contractors
Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are integrated into all phases of the project
Coordinate with grid operators, regulatory agencies, and permitting authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance
Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and best practices across projects
Track advancing technologies to maintain relevance in the Data Center space and to review with Copia internal team
Qualification
Required
10+ years' professional experience in Data Center Design, including both building and campus design for Hyperscale Data Centers
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) or licensed architect
Strong knowledge of heat absorption and rejections technologies as well as electrical system redundancy configurations from substations through medium voltage systems
Proven track record managing large, complex engineering/construction projects
Excellent project management skills, with experience in schedule, budget, and risk management
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior leadership, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Ability to work in the Salt Lake City, UT or Dana Point, CA office a minimum of 3 days per week
Ability to travel up to 25%
