Facility Project Coordinator (Project Leader 1)
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Facility Project Coordinator to support operations across its multiple facilities. The role involves developing, executing, and overseeing work control and equipment approvals, security plans, and scheduling customer operations.
Security
Responsibilities
Establishing program/project requirements with program managers, detailing the actions necessary to be able to operate in the DAF to meet mission requirements, setting realistic expectations, and conveying scheduling effects and delays
Coordinating, scheduling, and executing preparatory work for high hazard nuclear operations to be successfully completed
Working with security, both physical and informational, to ensure operations are executed in a compliant manner
Coordinating the transfer of equipment to and from the DAF
Authoring and revising work control documents that define a scope of work, analyze the hazards, and develop the controls and permits necessary to safely execute a project
Develop additional responsibilities that enhance the capabilities at NCERC, including becoming a Fissionable Material Handler, source custodian, and Person in Charge
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated knowledge of Safety Management Programs, including criticality safety, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, USQ program, and Conduct of Operations
Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple project schedules into an executable plan with respect to personnel, equipment, and facility availability
Demonstrated understanding of classified matter protection
Demonstrated knowledge of physical and cyber security requirements
Demonstrated experience with multiple aspects of technical project management including defining program work scope, schedules, priorities, and performance milestones
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to colleagues, management, and sponsors
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and make decisions, solve problems, exercise good judgment, work under time constraints, work with minimal supervision and prioritize workload
Position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
This position requires a Q clearance
Preferred
Ability to effectively communicate with customers across various governmental agencies
Knowledge of Integrated Work Management and Integrated Safeguards and Security Management
Experience developing work control documents
Experience developing security plans
Active DOE Q clearance
