Payroll & Benefits Systems Coordinator Senior - Central Payroll
The State of Wisconsin is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Systems Coordinator Senior to join the Department of Administration. This role will coordinate leave accounting and technical operations related to the paycheck cycle system, while also serving as a subject matter expert on PeopleSoft modules such as Payroll, Time & Labor, and Absence.

Responsibilities
Coordinate Leave Accounting and other technical operations that pertain to paycheck cycle system activities within the Central Payroll Section
Help resolve complex system and agency issues and develop procedural documentation while working cooperatively with other Central Payroll staff to provide coverage on section responsibilities and STAR PeopleSoft system support duties
Explain policy, procedure and laws to agency staff and employees, and collaborate with Division of Personnel Management staff, system analysts, and other business partners
Qualification
Required
Processing payroll and/or human resources within an enterprise resource planning system (like PeopleSoft or similar system)
Researching and interpreting either local, state and/or federal laws, or statutes and administrative code as it applies to their scope of work
Reviewing or auditing and resolving payroll and/or data discrepancies (e.g. validating data, identifying cause of data errors, and making timesheet or benefit adjustments, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar, including basic Formulas and Data Analysis tools (e.g. Sum, Average, Sorting, Filtering, etc.)
Preferred
Performing payroll calculations including taxes, benefits, and miscellaneous deductions
Testing system design changes or modifying queries in PeopleSoft or other database table-based systems
Providing payroll services within the state or other public sector setting that include interpreting and applying compensation plan provisions or other complex payroll policies
