Tax Manager
Fortitude Family Office is seeking a dynamic tax manager and leader to join their team, someone proficient in managing tax operations and passionate about mentoring others. This role involves overseeing the planning, preparation, and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses, while guiding team members and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
Guide and manage team members to ensure timely and precise completion of assigned tasks
Maintain proactive and clear communication with both your team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables effectively
Advanced technical proficiency in taxation, overseeing the preparation of complex tax returns including individuals, C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, and estates across various industries
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, expertly resolve and communicate tax-related questions and issues
Review associates' work, offering constructive feedback, guidance, and training to ensure quality and accuracy
Conduct in-depth tax research on complex issues and handle correspondence and audits from the IRS and other governmental agencies
Provide valuable guidance and mentorship to staff, assisting them in developing their technical skills. Train new employees on firm technologies, processes, and procedures
Maintain a program for ongoing tax updates and education for the tax group. Innovate and present ideas for process improvements to achieve firm and departmental goals
Qualification
Required
8+ years of prior experience with US income tax preparation and planning
In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulations
Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to articulate complex information in writing and verbally
Must be a self-starting individual who takes responsibility for his/her work and actively sees projects through to successful conclusions while maintaining a high level of communication with team members
Desire/ability to work successfully in a small company team environment where it is expected that you will wear many hats with varied responsibilities
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to operate CRM (Salesforce) and other systems, such as tax preparation software
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or related field
US CPA or equivalent required
