Cost Accountant

They are seeking a Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations through cost analysis, inventory accounting, and month-end close activities, while also improving core costing processes.

Test and Measurement

Responsibilities

Cost Analysis: Conduct analysis on product costs, manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, hours), inventory valuation, capital spending, and fixed asset management
Reporting: Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial KPIs to aid in decision making
Month End Close and Accounting: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures
Standard Cost Management: Review, update, and maintain standard costs and assist senior management in maintaining a robust business costing system
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks, focused on cost optimization and profitability improvements
System and Process Improvements: Support improvements to ERP configurations and drive efforts to streamline processes, standardize reporting, and implement dashboards

Required

Bachelor's degree
3+ years of direct cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
3+ years of experience performing product cost analysis and manufacturing variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, and hours)
3+ years of ERP accounting module experience, such as JDE, Oracle, SAP
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data and derive actionable insights
Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies issues and implements effective solutions
Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to support cross-departmental initiatives
Communication: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently
Manufacturing: Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing operations concepts/reporting

Preferred

Degree concentration: Accounting or Finance
Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA)
Experience in inventory valuation, capital spending, and fixed asset management
IQMS software experience
