Responsibilities

Fabricate high-precision parts and assemblies using manual, CNC, and advanced manufacturing techniques, ensuring safety and security compliance and stopping work if conditions are unsafe
Program, set up, and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, 3D additive manufacturing systems, and general machine shop tooling, applying GD&T principles and in-process inspection techniques
Interact with customers, engineers, and project teams to clarify requirements, communicate technical constraints, and deliver complete hardware, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives
Contribute to the development and refinement of manufacturing techniques and processes, estimate time and resources required for new fabrication and manufacturing tasks, and serve as a task lead for specific fabrication or manufacturing efforts
Prepare and review fabrication and shop documentation, contributing to the development of fabrication specifications and verifying that completed hardware meets design intent and quality expectations

Required

Advanced knowledge in machining and manufacturing acquired through experience, certification, and/or formal education
Demonstrated expertise in CNC programming and operation, including 5-axis machining
Knowledge of materials commonly used in precision fabrication
Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, inspection methods, and quality assurance practices
Familiarity with conventional and advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing
Experience estimating scope of work, duration, and resource requirements for manufacturing tasks
The ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires U.S. citizenship
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

Experience fabricating aluminum, steels, tungsten, tantalum, and brass
Active Q Clearance
Journeyman Machinist Certification
