Responsibilities
Support design engineering and testing functions
Develop and execute test plans, including fixture design, test method development, data logging, and reporting
Assist with problem-solving tasks related to the design of parts
Design components for battery packs and related systems
Assist with analysis, documentation, drawings, and other facets of design engineering
Assist with preparation of components, assemblies, test equipment, and manufacturing equipment for production launch
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program or greater in electrical, computer, mechanical, or related engineering field
Experience modeling components in CAD
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, thermal, and/or fluid system design
Understanding of 2D drawing layout and GD&T
Motivation and willingness to learn on the job
Ability to take ownership of a project, with guidance from the battery team
Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
Preferred
Prior experience in automotive projects is preferred, but not required
Collegiate teams such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, EcoCAR, Supermileage, etc
Hands-on experience working on vehicles
Knowledge of hybrid / electric vehicle systems and components preferred
Understanding of basic manufacturing and fabrication processes preferred
