Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and interpret geographic information provided by geodetic surveys, aerial photographs, and satellite data
Research, study, and prepare maps and other spatial data in digital or graphic form for legal, social, political, educational, and design purposes
May design and evaluate algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for GIS and mapping systems
Must be familiar with (capable of modifying or programing within the application) ESRI portal applications to include but not limited to: Web App Developer; Survey123; Workforce; and Story Maps
Train other watch standers and FPS personnel in the use of the applications
Coordinates with other FPS programs with geospatial elements (MIST/Telematics/etc.)
Coordinates with DHS Geospatial Center of Excellence for current and potential future use of DHS provided geospatial capabilities
Maintain situational awareness of DHS related events, incidents, and threats
Maintain COP
Provide GIS support to incident reporting, briefings and RFI’s
Maintain the GIS database, ensures data layers are updated
Maintains GIS portal FPS Group membership, archives material (outdated material and/or unused drafts)
Prepare executive-level reports and products, to include Senior Leader Briefs as directed by the SWO
Produce reporting products and briefs
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience in geographic information systems analysis or related work
Candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one
Educational Requirements: a BA/BS or MA/MS degree
