Regional Sales Manager - Pacific Northwest Territory

Responsibilities

Complete sales ownership and responsibility for the customers in the territory, with an expectation of continued, profitable growth. These customers include a mix of local, regional, and national pet chains as well as a host of independently owned pet retailers
Can effectively sell to the key decision makers and influencers at single-door and territory multi-door accounts
Develop and implement business plans for key accounts in territory, and partner with distributor reps on execution
Works collaboratively with area distributor reps to service THK customers and grow their respective territories
Utilizes systems and analyzes sales data through distributors to effectively grow the territory
Drives growth by securing new customers for THK in the territory, placing new products, and optimizing product sets. Also works collaboratively with distributor field sales personnel to execute directed regional sales strategies to drive sales growth
Ensures the highest level of customer service by actively managing day-to-day store requests, such as sample needs, literature, swag, and nutritional information
Maintains a positive and fun approach to the business, in keeping with THK and its brand in the pet marketplace
Executes regional-level product launches and promotions flawlessly, driving mutual success to both the customer and THK
Works closely with the national strategic accounts manager on providing needed in-field support for larger retail accounts
Operates comfortably within a systems framework that provides the organization with detailed field information and tracking
Perform other duties as required to support the Sales team or internal stakeholders

Required

An infectiously positive attitude that is excited to work within a rapidly moving, entrepreneurial environment
Pet industry experience within the Indy channel
Experience working with retail establishments is highly preferred
A willingness to travel regionally as well as to work some weekends for customer events
Strong comfort level and experience with technology, specifically working with analytical and reporting tools
Outstanding oral, written, and presentation skills
Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
Must love animals and be passionate about their health
Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent minimum 3 years experience
Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar role, in sales or business development, with a proven track record of exceeding individual or team sales targets
Live/reside in the Pacific Northwest of the United States
This role is performed in an office or remote environment
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays
Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copier, and printer
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
Must be able to exchange accurate information
Must be able to observe details at close range
Occasionally move items that weigh up to 20 pounds

Preferred

Experience working with retail establishments is highly preferred
Experience with Salesforce automation or CRM tools preferred
