Responsibilities
Own and elevate product documentation and technical customer communications
Design and deliver high-impact content that helps data practitioners use Prophecy to solve complex data prep and analytics problems
Translate sophisticated concepts into precise actionable guidance
Bring strong narrative judgment and a structured approach to information design
Champion the customer’s perspective in a fast-paced environment
Define how modern data prep and analysis documentation is created and consumed
Share Prophecy’s documentation strategy and set a new industry standard
Qualification
Required
6+ years of experience in technical writing with experience in Software Platform or B2B SaaS companies
4+ years of experience working in ETL, data engineering, data prep, data analytics, or business analytics
Proficiency in writing content in markdown version controlled in GitHub, and visuals in Figma
Mastery in crafting compelling narratives about a product suite across formats such as user guides, product manuals, quick start guides, and video tutorials
Basic code skills & experience working with SDKs, APIs, and CLIs
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
Has an expert command of written English, pairing flawless grammar and syntax with strong editorial judgment to deliver clear, polished, and highly readable technical documentation
Brings expert-level clarity to complex technical concepts, converting them into precise, approachable instructions that meets readers where they are
Expertly tailors technical documentation for diverse audiences, adjusting depth, tone, and structure to maximize clarity
Serves as a trusted documentation partner to product and engineering leaders, ensuring technical accuracy and strategic alignment across all customer-facing content
Independently evaluates product behavior functionality through direct use to inform authoritative documentation
Leads documentation programs end-to-end, setting standards and scaling best practices across teams
