Responsibilities
Assemble commissioning teams and conduct scoping meetings to define roles and responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and execute Commissioning Plans
Chair commissioning meetings and coordinate commissioning activities throughout all project phases
Review Owner’s Project Requirements and design documentation for completeness and accuracy
Review design drawings and specifications at each project stage and prepare formal design review reports
Develop commissioning specifications, pre-functional checklists, functional test procedures, and verification documentation
Witness and document system start-ups, functional testing, and verification activities (including HVAC, piping, and ductwork systems)
Maintain commissioning Issues Logs and coordinate resolution of deficiencies
Conduct warranty-period reviews and prepare pre-warranty expiration reports
Perform retro-commissioning activities, including: Documenting existing building operating conditions, Conducting site surveys, diagnostics, and field testing, Preparing retro-commissioning plans, testing documentation, and final reports with recommendations
Provide training to owner’s personnel on system operation and maintenance
Support multiple projects and clients while coordinating with other commissioning staff
Estimate manpower needs, schedule work, and provide direction to Engineers and Designers assigned to commissioning projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project commissioning or building systems design
At least one professional Commissioning Accreditation required
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and integrated building systems
Preferred
LEED AP BD+C preferred
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward licensure preferred
