Human Resources Associate Representative - Temporary
City of Minneapolis is the largest and most vibrant city in the state, seeking a Human Resources Associate Representative to provide administrative support to the Benefits division. Responsibilities
Provide support for and assist senior level staff members by performing duties to meet customer needs
Apply established professional guidelines in solving problems and making recommendations on how to proceed in specific situations
Analyze facts, and provide recommendations for dealing with human resources questions and employee relations issues
Answer questions in area assigned and aid in response to inquiries
Advanced computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office
Assist with division records including all past and present labor agreements, letters of agreement, related files, etc. ensuring compliance with state and federal laws
Solid written communication to write reports and business correspondence
Assist in responding to internal and external data requests
May complete special projects, write reports, perform research, design questionnaires, etc
Assist with scheduling meetings and City Council actions
Prepare notes and data for review during negotiation sessions and interviews
Maintain collective bargaining unit member reporting in compliance with collective bargaining agreements, create and distribute information to union representatives or upload onto union data website
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and managed sensitive information with discretion
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's Degree in Business Administration
Three years of related job experience
An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered
Advanced computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Office
Solid written communication to write reports and business correspondence
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion
Preferred
Ability to participate as a team member in a variety of settings
Knowledge of modern administration techniques
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Good knowledge of modern research techniques and ability to write reports and make recommendations
Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives effectively and respectfully
Knowledge of the City's Human Resources policies and procedures
Knowledge of labor agreements
General knowledge of PeopleSoft software
Knowledge of and experience developing and maintaining web content
