Site QA Engineer Nuclear Island / Energy Island

They are seeking a Site QA Engineer for the Nuclear Island and Energy Island projects, responsible for ensuring quality requirements are met throughout the job site and overseeing various technical scopes within the Natrium Project.

Responsibilities
Ensure the production of Project and technical scope meet quality requirements:
Monitor and report status of activities
Oversee partner and vendor technical work as required
Participate in Corrective and Preventive Actions, Continuous Improvement, Lessons Learned/Operational Experience and Risk Management processes
Review quality affecting procedures (engineering, procurement, document control, records, testing, etc.) to ensure program compliance
Review procurement specifications, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, task orders and agreements to ensure flow-down of applicable quality assurance requirements
Review design drawings, specifications, test plans/procedures, and other technical documents for quality assurance requirements using a graded approach to quality when applicable
Identify and communicate opportunities for work process improvements with department business manager
Prepare and initiate budget cost and schedule change notices
Ensure the technical adequacy and quality of work products:
Ensure technical adequacy of work performed
Provide reviews and approvals attesting to technical adequacy of work products
Ensure compliance with TerraPower Engineering procedures and guidelines, including applicable quality standards
Facilitate definition of technical interfaces/handoffs from other teams
Provide technical oversight of contractor, supplier, and partner work where applicable
Keep senior managers, department directors, and lead technical staff informed of major emerging technical issues, while working to solving these problems with others
Assist in the identification of regulations, codes and standards applicable to the work
Ensure technical documents meet applicable regulatory guides, codes and standards
Ensure design conducted in accordance with project requirements, configuration management and change control plans and practices
Qualification
Required
B.S. engineering related discipline from an accredited university and 8+ years direct experience, or an M.S. or Ph.D. with commensurate experience
Qualified or able to qualify as NQA-1 Audit Team Lead with first year
Exceptional communication skills to integrate with a geographically and organizationally diverse engineering team are required
Experience managing projects executed under a high degree of regulatory oversight, with a preference for experience building Nuclear Power Plants
Strong technical acumen, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts is highly desirable
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork
Prior nuclear construction oversight experience is strongly desired
Experience with industry codes, standards and guides such as ASME, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC and IEEE are strongly desired
Preferred
10+ years' experience in a nuclear (NRC, DOE) Quality Assurance function preferred or in a regulated environment such as, EPA and aerospace
