Imaging Tech I Per Diem - Diagnostic
Tucson Medical Center is seeking an Imaging Tech I Per Diem to operate x-ray equipment and perform radiographic procedures under the supervision of a radiologist. The role involves preparing patients, administering contrast media, and ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed while maintaining equipment and records.

Responsibilities
Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body under the supervision of a radiologist
Prepares and administers barium salts or other chemical mixtures
Prepares and maintains records and files as directed
Cleans and adjusts equipment
Prepares room and equipment for patient
Prepares the patient and explains the procedure; observes the patient’s status before, during and after procedure
Arranges, attaches, or adjusts immobilization and support devices to obtain precise positions and prevent patient from moving
Administers contrast media with instructions to patients
Practices radiation protection techniques, minimize radiation to patient and staff, following established safety protocols
Provides training to students, staff and physicians
Develops film and assesses technical quality; seeks appropriate consultation to repeat radiographs
Uses automated technology to archive, copy, film, and manipulate image data
Maintains x-ray exams log
Uses all department systems, including order entry, scheduling, patient location, and transport, and radiology information system
Maintains inventory control; checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis; performs routine daily equipment maintenance and cleaning
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards
Performs related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
One (1) year of experience operating radiograph equipment
Arizona Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Knowledge of radiograph equipment and how to operate machinery
Skill in operating and maintaining radiograph equipment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence
Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action; ability to speak effectively with customers
Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
