Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Landfill CQA Technician to work in their Waste Management practice. This role involves performing Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services to monitor landfill construction activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory permit conditions.

Responsibilities

Performing Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services to observe, document and monitor construction activities associated with landfill construction

Evaluating whether the construction meets governing project specifications and regulatory permit conditions

Perform field testing of various construction materials

Secure samples of materials for laboratory testing to confirm compliance with project specifications

Work closely with the CEC project manager to prepare the as-built documentation needed to certify completed work

Travel and out-of-town work will be required periodically based on project needs

Required

Experience with landfill CQA or other related fields of construction and CQA services

Experience with testing and monitoring soil materials, geosynthetic materials, pipe, and concrete

Ability to work independently in the field in varying weather and site conditions

Ability to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds on occasion

Ability to traverse uneven surfaces

Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company pickup truck

Ability and interest to travel for work outside of the area

Interest in working at a variety of construction project sites

Ability to speak and write professionally to prepare documentation of site conditions and conduct daily communications with site and project representatives

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
