Responsibilities
Partner with a cross-functional engineering team to support products used in industrial applications
Design mechanical switches and sealed enclosures that house electronic, mechanical, and optical components such as sensors and safety devices
Build and refine 3D models using Creo (Pro/Engineer)
Provide hands-on engineering insight to resolve product functionality, assembly, and qualification challenges while staying aligned with cost and schedule goals
Develop innovative designs ready for high-volume manufacturing
Define and oversee engineering tests to validate product performance
Support documentation and ongoing product improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Typically 5+ years of experience developing products for industrial, consumer, or medical environments
Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools and structural/thermal analysis
Solid understanding of GD&T, machining processes, rapid prototyping, and materials used in plastic part design
Experience with Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, and Design for Six Sigma principles
Preferred
Familiarity with SAP is a plus
Working knowledge of NEMA / Ingress Protection standards is preferred
Experience designing electrical connectors, sensors, or safety products
Exposure to UL, CSA, or IEC standards
Spanish language skills
