Responsibilities
Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location
Control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges as directed, managing visitor logs, and directing deliveries and contractors to designated check-in areas
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including handling alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance, and escalating notifications per post orders
Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or tampering with utility-related equipment
Complete detailed reports and documentation for patrols, incidents, and maintenance concerns, and communicate key updates during shift turnovers to support continuity of security-related operations
Qualification
Required
A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
