Regional Compliance Officer
MaineHealth is a healthcare organization that provides oversight of compliance activities. The Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) will guide the workforce on compliance matters, develop policies, implement education, and monitor corrective action plans to ensure adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities
Provides oversight of compliance activities and serves as a compliance, policy and regulatory subject matter expert
Provides guidance to the assigned Local Health System’s workforce on all manner of compliance related matters
Develops and reviews compliance policies and procedures
Creates and implements compliance education
Identifies potential areas of vulnerability and risk
Develops, implements and monitors corrective action plans to resolve instances of conduct that do not conform to MaineHealth policies or to federal or state laws or regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Five years of experience in a healthcare organization
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred. If not currently certified, the candidate must become certified within one year of hire
Preferred
Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical activities, coding/billing/reimbursement, quality improvement and risk management
In-depth knowledge of the state and Federal rules and regulations applicable to healthcare settings
Knowledge and general understanding of Federal and state compliance program requirements, particularly in relation to hospitals, physician practices, and other healthcare facilities
