Responsibilities
Process and verify invoices for accuracy, approvals, and compliance with company policies
Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices to ensure proper documentation before payment
Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, wire transfers, or other methods
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or payment issues promptly
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and update the general ledger accordingly
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Respond to vendor inquiries and build strong relationships with external partners
Support audits by providing requested documentation and explanations
Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies
Assist with process improvement initiatives in the AP function
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Experience in a high-volume AP environment
Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic payment platforms
Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
