Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist (DCFS), Salt Lake Valley Region

NEOGOV is seeking a Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist for the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in Utah. This role involves making initial and continuing eligibility determinations for Foster Care children in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Collecting and reviewing client information to determine client's/applicant's eligibility and options
Participate in Peer Reviews and state and Federal audits
Preparing and/or processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and/or evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc
Referring clients to other available services to meet needs where appropriate
Consulting with Division staff regarding eligibility requirements when necessary
Maintaining and/or creating files or record keeping systems; sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents, and/or other materials
Entering data into relevant databases such as EREP, MMIS and SAFE

reading, interpreting, and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
principles, theories, and practices of the Medicaid/Medicare system
using State or agency-specific software application program(s)
using MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System)
using SAFE (i.e., State social services computer application program)
foster care services

Preferred

Professional work experience or knowledge of Title IV-E and Medicaid
Two or more years' experience working in government or public programs
