Intern, Mechanical Engineering (Inverter)
Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company on a mission to transform an industry starving for innovation. The intern will contribute to the design and development of a new electric vehicle inverter, focusing on creating CAD models and conducting tests.

Responsibilities
Create 2D and 3D CAD using CATIA 3DExperience
Develop test plans to validate prototype inverter components
Design test fixtures; overseeing the manufacturing and implementation of the designs
Design mechanical components for the inverter
Design enclosures for electrical components
Gain experience conducting FEA on structural components using industry standard software packages
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program or greater in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field
Experience modeling solids and surfaces in CAD
Understanding of 2D drawing layout and GD&T
Motivation and willingness to learn on the job
Ability to take ownership of a project, with guidance from the inverter team
Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
Preferred
Prior experience in automotive projects is preferred, but not required
Collegiate teams such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, EcoCAR, etc
Hands-on experience working on vehicles
Knowledge of hybrid / electric vehicle systems and components preferred
Understanding of basic manufacturing and fabrication processes preferred
