Vacuum Casting Operator (Temporary)

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Vacuum Casting Operator to join their manufacturing team in producing high-performance brazing alloys. This role involves operating vacuum cast furnaces, preparing metal charges, performing melt operations, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

Perform charge preparation and melt operations in accordance with established procedures
Set up and operate vacuum casting furnaces to produce high-quality castings to precise tolerances
Select, insert, and position, clean molds; pour metal at specified temperatures
Monitor and control melt and casting processes, document data accurately, and recommend process improvements
Participate in cross-functional teams focused on improving casting operations and overall production performance
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Prepare and send metal samples to the lab for analysis
Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects
Accurately record melt and production activity information in required logs or systems
Assist with die setups and safely transfer metal using cranes and related equipment
Clean, maintain, and perform basic maintenance on furnaces and associated equipment
Perform other duties and support manufacturing needs as assigned

Required

Prior experience in a foundry, smelting, metal casting, heat treating, or equivalent manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience operating and maintaining vacuum and/or hydrogen furnaces is highly desirable
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and process documentation
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Commitment to safety and quality standards
Ability to lift, move, and handle materials and equipment safely – up to 60 lbs
Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed to support production
Individual must be a citizen of the United States, or a permanent resident alien of the United States, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
