They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and project management activities from concept through production launch, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, manufacturability, and cost requirements.

Responsibilities
Lead several major product development initiatives simultaneously, managing design and development through the launch process
Serve as Engineering subject matter expert, ensuring technical excellence, manufacturability (DFMA), and production readiness for assigned projects
Develop product and component designs using SolidWorks while driving adherence to engineering standards and best practices
Lead and facilitate design reviews and ensure design intent aligns with performance, quality assurance, and business requirements
Perform prototyping, mechanical testing, and validation, including test plans, procedures, and fixtures
Support continuous improvement initiatives and resolve design-related quality issues using structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis
Provide engineering and technical support across Airmax, Local Service, and Direct-to-Consumer divisions as needed
Demonstrate ownership, curiosity, and persistence while benchmarking competitive products and identifying opportunities for product or process innovation
Qualification
Required
Engineering bachelor's degree: mechanical engineering preferred
Proven experience applying mechanical engineering principles, knowledge of materials science, thermodynamics, manufacturing processes, and tools in product engineering
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in product design/development within an engineering discipline
Experience creating and defining performance requirements on engineering drawings
Solid understanding of GD&T
Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D-modeling software
Inquisitive mindset with a passion for exploring new ideas and approaches
Demonstrated ability to build strong connections by seeking input and fostering open dialogue
Creative thinking and persistence in finding solutions to complex problems
Experience with various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, metal forming, injection molding, welding/joining, extrusion, etc
Manual dexterity for working with small components
Ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time
Bending, continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 50 lb
Managing packages up to 150 lb
Standing/stooping for long periods of time
Extensive use of a computer system
High degree of interaction with engineers, technicians, managers, leads, and other departments (Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, etc.)
Organization, follow-up, and communication skills
