OFFICE ASSISTANT
Washoe County is conducting a recruitment for the Office Assistant position to fill anticipated vacancies in various departments. The role involves performing general clerical duties under direct supervision to support departmental operations.

Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of general clerical duties in support of an assigned department or division; and performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
One year of full-time clerical experience to include public contact experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and if required, must be maintained for continued employment in this classification
Licensure as a Notary Public may be required based on area of assignment and if required, must be maintained for continued employment in this classification
Background checks will be conducted on selected applicants through the State of Nevada and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
New and rehired employees are required to submit to a fingerprint based background investigation
Washoe County requires its employees to reside in the state of Nevada or neighboring California communities such as Truckee, South Lake Tahoe or Susanville as of their first day of work
Certain positions may have access to criminal justice agency systems including NCIC and CJIS. All felony convictions, gross misdemeanor and certain misdemeanors will prohibit that employee from working with NCIC and CJIS criminal justice systems
Human Services Agency applicant(s) will be required to have a tuberculosis test
For positions at the Washoe County Sheriff's Office after the interview, top candidates must pass a background investigation which includes: submit a set of fingerprints, complete and submit a personal history statement, pass a Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA) examination
For positions at the District Attorney's Office, selected candidates will go through an extensive Background Investigation conducted by the District Attorney's Office and candidates will be required to provide a set of fingerprints
For positions at North Nevada Public Health (NNPH), selected candidates are required to meet the Health District (NNPH) immunization requirements and complete 2 TB Skin Tests at time of appointment, or provide documentation of a prior QuantiFERON test done within the last 12 months
