10+ years expAdvanced Tech Placement is seeking a hands-on Senior Backend / MERN Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for a growing marketplace and API-driven platform. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Node.js, MongoDB, and TypeScript, focusing primarily on backend solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, well-tested backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
Build and integrate RESTful APIs, working with existing prebuilt APIs within a marketplace platform
Work extensively with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and production data optimization
Serve as a senior technical reference for backend development best practices
Contribute to backend architecture discussions and technical decision-making
Support platform modernization and migration efforts within an existing codebase
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards
Collaborate closely with product, QA, and globally distributed engineering teams
Follow best practices across SDLC, testing, performance optimization, and secure coding
Utilize CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments
Communicate progress, risks, and technical tradeoffs clearly within the team
Stay current with evolving backend technologies and tooling, including emerging AI-assisted development tools
Qualification
Required
10+ years of relevant professional development experience (excluding training)
5+ years of recent, hands-on backend experience within the MERN ecosystem
Strong expertise in Node.js (modern versions strongly preferred)
Strong expertise in MongoDB (real production usage)
Strong expertise in JavaScript / TypeScript
Proven experience building backend services that integrate with enterprise systems via RESTful APIs
Experience working within established codebases and stepping into existing platforms successfully
Experience with unit testing, API testing tools, and Git-based version control
Solid understanding of Agile / iterative development methodologies
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality backend engineering
Working knowledge of AWS, including: Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
Exposure to serverless and cloud-native application design
Preferred
Experience with backend migrations or platform modernization initiatives
Exposure to GenAI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar
Performance tuning at the application or database level
Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a senior technical lead (without people management)
Experience working with globally distributed teams
Master's degree preferred
