Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
Assist with full-cycle general ledger accounting functions
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closes
Create schedules, account reconciliations and journal entries for accounting areas including debt issuances, leasing arrangements, prepaids, goodwill, intangibles, and other items as assigned
Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS regulations
Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards as applicable
Own expense reporting process including reconciliations, review of vouchers, payment processing, and corrections
Serve as a backup to the accounts payable function, as needed
Support external audits, including financial, DCAA, and internal control reviews
Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives
Conduct account research and handle ad-hoc accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks as necessary
Recommend and implement best practices to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Collaborate across the organization to ensure accurate accounting and to resolve issues and discrepancies in a timely manner
Promote a positive team environment through all relationships to ensure optimal performance and professional growth
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team skills
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
4+ years of accounting experience, managerial experience is a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and indirect rate structures
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong relationship skills
Preferred
CPA a plus
Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint accounting software
Experience with financial audits and DCAA compliance
Government contracting experience
Public accounting experience
