SCADA Engineer

Responsibilities
Work on incidents and change management requests in close coordination with the EGPNA ICS Service Desk to ensure high system availability and reliability. Tasks include advanced troubleshooting, coordination with contractors and software supplier’s experts, root cause analysis, etc. Intervention is performed mainly remotely
Write, review and update work incident reports and operating procedures
Collaborate with the EGPNA ICS Service Desk to analyze & report Plant-facing issues such as incidents, requests, availability, and compliance and perform detailed problem analysis on critical incidents to prevent reoccurring issues and improve resolution time
Measure KPIs to evaluate the performance of the Plant-facing systems

Take part in system improvements and new projects: developing scope of work, reviewing design and proposals with suppliers, selection of suppliers, implementation, testing, commissioning, and finally the transition to Control Room Operators
Work in close coordination with the Remote-Control Generation support team managing the supporting ICS infrastructure (networking, hardware, OS, cyber security, patching, etc.)
Supervise EGPNA contractors and suppliers to maintain efficient coordination, level of support, compliance and quality of services to EGPNA
Work with the Operations team to address the business needs and provide appropriate technical solutions
Provide 24/7 on-call support as first or second level of escalation for critical incidents
Comply with and support enforcement of compliance program (EGPNA standard procedures, NERC CIP (706) Cyber standards, NERC (693) Reliability standards, etc.)
Design and integration of new plants
Act as the SME within the team to onboard new technologies (e.g. BESS) and new ICS/SCADA platforms and ensure knowledge capitalization and sharing within the team
Review design of instrumentation, control and SCADA systems from the E&C and M&A group
Ensure specifications and recommendations from the Plant systems team are addressed
Act as the reference point developing, communicating, and enforcing that delivered systems are fully compliant with Plant systems team expectations, Enel guidelines, TSO/ISO Market protocols, and applicable regulation (e.g. NERC, NERC CIP)
Collect, review and Q/A design, commissioning and project technical information supplied by E&C and ensure available documents are available to the DH for the maintenance phase
Perform or coordinate as needed the integration of systems with:
OT Domain
Patching and back-up program
Corporate OsiSoft PI
Network Monitoring tools
Asset management platform
System access control
Coordinate the onboarding of the system within maintenance processes (Service desk)
Ensure that proper service contracts are activated to support the maintenance of the new systems
Define and improve internal procedures to improve the new plant integration process
Qualification
Required
Experience in integration/maintenance of large-scale SCADA systems, automation, PLC for the power/utility industry
Knowledge of power plant and electrical systems maintenance and operations will be highly regarded
Knowledge of Wind Turbine SCADA (GE, VESTAS, GAMESA, etc.) and renewable energy systems will be highly regarded
Rigorous approach to problem solving, troubleshooting, documentation, compliance aspects
Teamwork oriented but also capable of working autonomously
Advanced proficiency in industrial communications: Modbus, IEC104, DNP3, OPC, OSI PI, etc
Advanced proficiency in IT communications and systems: SFTP, SSH, Database administration, SQL, data mining, MS Windows server, Linux, etc
Advanced networking skills, Proficient with network analysis and packet analysis tools (e.g Wireshark, etc.)
Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed
Ability to produce and review technical (e.g. troubleshooting guide, incident report) and non-technical documentation (e.g. contractual documents)
Proficient in: Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, use of Excel Macro, PowerPoint
Valid Driver's License
Travelling up to 20% of the time
B.S. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls or Computer Science; or equivalent
5 years of relevant experience
