Geologist/Scientist
Leisnoi Government Services is seeking a Geologist/Scientist to support environmental services projects. The role involves coordinating field and technical activities, collaborating with a Joint Venture team, and ensuring project goals align with strategic objectives.
Government Relations
Responsibilities
Collaborate daily with onsite team members, JV partners, subcontractors, and remote project management to execute remediation, investigation, and restoration activities safely and effectively
Support implementation of project work plans, scope, schedules, and adherence to technical and regulatory requirements under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager
Assist with preparation and review of technical documents including but not limited to RFIs, change orders, work plans, stakeholder monthly reports, etc
Conduct regular safety audits for the project
Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule, cost reports, procurement
Provide status reports to onsite and corporate project management team
Interface and work with the corporate project accountant to ensure accurate and timely cost coding, billing, and revenue recognition
Act as an onsite liaison, facilitating clear communication between field staff, JV partners, and remote leadership, including routine updates and participation in virtual meetings
Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture by sharing expertise and supporting colleagues in a joint venture context
Perform field data collection, environmental sampling, and technical documentation; assist with the review and maintenance of field logs, sample records, and reporting documentation
Aid in coordinating subcontractor activities, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance
Participate in stakeholder engagement activities as needed, including interactions with regulatory agency representatives, local community contacts, and contractors
Contribute to problem-solving and process improvement to optimize project delivery, safety, and team collaboration
Adhere to all site-specific health, safety, and environmental protocols
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related field
Minimum 4–7 years of professional experience in environmental remediation, site investigation, or environmental project delivery
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required (current refresher preferred)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with partner organizations and within multidisciplinary, team-oriented environments
Proficiency in field data collection, technical documentation, and the use of project management or environmental data software
Strong written and verbal communication skills for both onsite teamwork and coordination with remote leadership
Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities, with a track record of effective prioritization and task management
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Federal Background Check
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors, and navigate a variety of field conditions and terrain
Capable of standing or working in a stationary position for significant periods and operating field equipment, as needed
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for fieldwork and construction environments
Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks required by field investigations
Preferred
Experience with projects involving radiation in soil is a strong plus
Progress toward Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), or an equivalent professional credential if applicable is preferred but not required
