Laboratory Technician Intern - WRM-2026-18i
The NJ Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Laboratory Technician Intern for their Water Resource Management program. The intern will learn to collect and process water samples, perform various water quality analyses, and enter lab data for EPA submission.

Responsibilities
Learn how to collect and process samples for ambient nutrient monitoring
Calibrate, maintain, and use portable field meters to collect water quality measurements
Learn to perform chlorophyll, TSS, alkalinity, and turbidity analysis
Enter lab data into LIMS for submittal to EPA
Qualification
Required
Detailed oriented
Ability to multitask
Strong customer service skills
Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Authorization to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
Preferred
Individuals enrolled at an accredited university/college studying one of the Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences/Studies, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or in Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, or Physical Geography
Individuals studying Civil Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Bio-resource Engineering
