Field Service Engineer - Hartford, CT
Messer Cutting Systems, located in Wisconsin, is a global supplier of cutting solutions for the metal-working industry. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for machine installations, preventative maintenance, and service on machines throughout North America at various customer sites.

Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance of multi-axis CNC equipment at customer sites throughout North America
Perform machine and software upgrades
Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment
Properly handle 480VAC and conform to related safety procedures
Interpret mechanical layout drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials
Complete required paperwork on time (e.g., service reports, discrepancy reports, expense reports, etc.) on a timely basis
Achieve/maintain Customer Survey Satisfaction rating as established by the Service Manager
Provide technical telephone support, as required
Conduct final product testing in house, as required
Conform to OSHA’s safety guidelines and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures
Qualification
Required
3+ years of related experience in comparable machine installation and repair
Ability to diagnose, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance of multi-axis CNC equipment at customer sites throughout North America
Ability to perform machine and software upgrades
Ability to train customers on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment
Ability to properly handle 480VAC and conform to related safety procedures
Ability to interpret mechanical layout drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials
Ability to complete required paperwork on time (e.g., service reports, discrepancy reports, expense reports, etc.)
Ability to achieve/maintain Customer Survey Satisfaction rating as established by the Service Manager
Ability to provide technical telephone support, as required

Experience with Plasma, Laser, and Oxyfuel cutting process
Experience with multi-axis CNC machines
Experience with CAD/CAM software
Familiar with the use of power and construction tools, such as: hammer drills, impact guns, and cordless drills
Strong oral communication skills
Strong customer service skills, with a 'customer first' mindset
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Steel-toe shoes
Eye protection
Ability to travel 95-100%, frequently on short notice
Preferred
Associate's Degree in Electronics, Robotics or Automation technologies
