Engineering Specialist (Electrical)

The Judicial Council of California is seeking an Engineering Specialist with expertise in electrical systems for their Facilities Services office. The role involves reviewing and advising on construction projects, providing technical assistance, and supporting the Architecture and Engineering team in cross-disciplinary work.

Responsibilities

Implements electrical system codes, standards and guidelines
Implements effective protocols and procedures for compliance to the JCC’s California Trial Court Facilities Standards for electrical systems
Provides review of contracted design of electrical systems for multiple capital projects and facility modifications
Advises project managers on technical aspects of electrical systems in capital or facility modification projects
Reviews engineering designs and construction documentation
Assists in contract management and administration
Assists in drafting technical scope-of-work descriptions for RFQs/RFPs related to electrical work
Under the guidance of A&E Supervisor, supports the Architecture and Engineering team in cross-disciplinary work
Provides support for setting up and tracking Bluebeam sessions and maintains records of comments and responses for project reviews

Qualification

Electrical engineeringCalifornia Professional Engineer licenseTechnical facility engineeringConstruction project reviewValid driver’s license

Required

Bachelor's degree, preferably in a directly related field that would provide the knowledge and skills necessary for technical facility and construction engineering
An additional four (4) years of professional experience as noted above may substitute for the bachelor's degree
Valid driver's license

Preferred

California Professional Engineer license in Electrical engineering
