Responsibilities
Builds an open and honest communication line with direct and indirect reports. Interacts daily with the drivers, delivery assistants & warehouse personnel
Develops and ensures a positive, supporting and collaborative culture in the Operations group
Oversees the tracking of fleet and warehouse performance against the established budget and operational goals
Continuously monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement of product
Ensures all company policies, DOT, OSHA, and all other regulatory bodies are complied with
Oversees the hiring, supervision, scheduling, and termination of personnel
Forecasts staffing needs based on upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc
Responsible for accurate inventory and productivity levels
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5 + years of warehouse operations experience as well as progressive hands-on Supervisory/management Experience Required
WMS Experience Required (Manhattan Experience Is Desirable)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable of OSHA Standards and regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office software; strong focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to perform work at a desk or sit/stand workstation for extended periods of time
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and to view a computer screen for extended periods of time
Ability to interact with employees and/or customers in the Distribution Center or customer locations with multi-temp environments, including Freezer, Refrigerated, and Dry goods areas
Ability to travel to customer locations, other Distribution Centers, Corporate Office, etc. as needed
Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
Preferred
BS/BA Preferred
Previous experience in a Food Distribution environment is preferred
Financial acumen with previous P&L responsibility is preferred
SAP experience preferred
Experience using voice selecting applications preferred (Vocollect is desirable)
