Principal Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities
Order book management for a multitude of suppliers you will be responsible for
Raise & amend purchase/scheduled orders
Resolve invoice queries and issue RFQs
Provide critical updates/delivery status to key internal stakeholders through meeting and use of escalation file
Engage with functions outside of supply chain (Finance, Engineering, Operations, programs etc.) to ensure a timely resolution of supply chain issues
Keeping escalation files updated with key current information for stakeholders to relay and act accordingly
Review personal internal stats (Metrics) on various aspects of the job to analyze and action
Action focused, driven to deliver concrete and sustainable results
Assist the Account Manager on account reviews and projects in relation to your suppliers
Be proactive to mitigate and minimize supply chain risks, to prevent critical line stops
Work with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams and engineering to ensure that new requirements and amendments are quickly identified and that supply solutions are in place to meet project timescales
Work with account managers and commodity managers on supplier strategy in-line with business requirements
Negotiate with and manage cost for suppliers in support of Commodity strategy and business financial performance as well as cost reduction targets
Facilitate stakeholder reviews and action outcomes supporting change management and transfer programs
Understanding suppliers sub cons and sub suppliers to follow the production path and assist in improvements
Approximately 10% travel domestically and internationally
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience
2 or more years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems
Preferred
Experience with FAR/DFAR flow-downs
SAP experience
