HR Generalist
The Wenger Group is a leading Northeast family-owned organization in the agricultural sector, providing various products and services. They are seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to support HR leaders with recruiting, employee relations, training, and performance management initiatives.

Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with management during the talent acquisition process
Partner with hiring managers to understand position needs, and assist in the creation of job descriptions
Researches and engages the local community to enhance company presence and recruiting efforts
Facilitate training and learning with team members as necessary
Attend career fairs and manage relationships with colleges and universities for The Weger Group (TWG)
Ensure accurate and appropriate set up of new hires in the HRIS, as well as partner with IT and Payroll to ensure a smooth transition into the Company
Participate in the rotation for attendance and facilitation of New Hire Orientation
Contribute to continuous improvement of the orientation process
Assist in updating presentation materials, slides, and related content
Serve as backup facilitator for the benefits orientation session
Execute all components of the onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, drug screens, ExactHire tasks, LaserFiche forms, announcements, and other required steps
Regularly evaluate onboarding workflows and recommend process improvements
Conduct and support in person exit interviews
Prepare and communicate final benefits summaries
Manage biweekly exit interview survey analysis via SurveyMonkey for all TWG employees
Complete Laserfiche forms for all corporate terminations
Partner with managers to coordinate collection of company property and related offboarding tasks
Serve as first level contact for employee relations questions and concerns
Conduct stay interviews to support engagement and retention efforts
Lead 30/60/90day new hire check-ins and provide follow-up support
Assist in the performance management process, including documentation and coaching support
Builds, establishes, and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers to foster a positive work environment
Work as a team player – consistently demonstrating company core values of Integrity, Respect, Quality, Safety, and Stewardship
Supports employee engagement planning process and administration
Supports change management initiatives
Supports annual HR processes such as performance management/goal setting, compensation planning and succession planning efforts to meet organizational needs
Assist with TWG scholarship program
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related experience
A minimum of 2-3 years of human resources experience
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Demonstrated proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite required
Essential excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage time well and meet deadlines as required
Proven ability to take ownership of work with a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, commitment, and persistence in the face of obstacles or adversity
Basic understanding of state and federal laws
Eager and willing to learn!
Willing and able to travel to company location sites
Flexibility to be present and available for off-shift hours when necessary
Ability to work from a feed mill and/or in dusty conditions occasionally
Ability to lift up to 25lbs at times
Preferred
SHRM or HRCI certification a plus
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
Previous experience working in an HRIS system preferred
Demonstrated community involvement desired
