Responsibilities
Demonstrates the ability to provide reliable casework and program support in a probation or social services setting
Effectively assists professional and technical staff with monitoring adult and juvenile probationer cases
Comfortable completing routine and structured office, community, and client support tasks
Accurate and detail-oriented in preparing forms, documents, and case-related materials
Works effectively in support of deputized probation officers and other department personnel
Communicates professionally and respectfully with clients, staff, and community partners
Qualification
Required
Thirty (30) semester units from an accredited college with coursework in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, criminal justice or related field
One (1) year of client support services experience which has involved client interaction, community outreach, face to face interviews, making referrals, and/or maintaining case records
The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment
May be required to work outside normal working hours including evenings, weekends and other off-hours shifts
Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire
DMV printout prior to hire
Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109
Preferred
Associate's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, criminal justice or related field
Additional years of experience working with juvenile or adult offenders, children and families, the elderly, disabled, and/or dependent adults or within the criminal justice field
