Responsibilities
Equipment related to Heating and Air Conditioning will have been properly maintained/repaired/replaced
Equipment related to refrigeration and ventilating systems will have been properly maintained/repaired/replaced
Control system related will have been maintained/repaired/replaced
Filter of HVAC systems will have been cleaned and changed
Blowers, belts and assemblies on a programed schedule will have been adjusted/repaired/replaced
Circulating pumps in boiler systems will have been repaired/maintained/replaced
Heat exchangers in a boiler system will have been maintained/repaired/replaced
Records of hot water storage tanks as related to lining inspections will have been kept
Log of boiler pressure and data will have been maintained
Other duties, as directed, will have been properly performed
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to graduation from High School
Four (4) years of journeyman-level experience in heating and air conditioning trade, in addition to completion of an apprenticeship or its equivalent
Possesses and maintain a valid California Driver's License is required at the time of employment to operate district vehicles as determined by the District and liability and insurance carrier
Knowledge of plans and specifications
Knowledge of standard practices, materials and equipment used in the trade
Knowledge of safely practices and regulations of the trade
Knowledge of safely use hand and power tools of the trade
Knowledge of applicable city, county, state, and federal and building codes
Ability to service air conditioning units with the District
Ability to maintain, service and repair of hot water stream and chilled water units
Ability to maintain, service and repair of heating, ventilating refrigerating and air conditioning equipment
Ability to maintain controls and systems
Ability to use tools and machinery of the trade
Ability to safely lift and carry tools and materials
Ability to safely climb ladder and work at heights off scaffold
Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with others
