Program Director

Responsibilities
Assist supervisor with new projects by:
Understanding main objectives, purpose, and scope
Identifying key internal and external stakeholders
Discussing shared expectations, and gain required authorization necessary to move a project forward
Working with key stakeholders to create an integrated project plan focused on attaining the outlined goals
Outlining key deliverables and milestones, assign tasks and oversee proper completion
Documenting each phase of the project
Ensure basic needs and navigation services are accessible to clients and delivered in trauma informed manner
Promote agency culture of treating everyone with dignity and respect
Maintain a trauma-informed approach to service delivery
Critical Incident Reports: facilitate resolution of critical incident reports according to agency policy and procedure
Investigate complaints, facilitate resolution of client grievances according to agency policy and procedure; report as necessary to include recommended/taken actions for mitigation and correction
Maintain smooth and complimentary partner operations with the Brother Francis Shelter collocated on the 3rd Avenue Campus
Work with Sr. Director or Adult Homeless Services, Communications, and agency leadership to identify potential partner originations within the community who are providing essential services to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
Invite and inspire partners organizations to provide services within the program space
Maintain positive relationships with all partners, respond to and resolve issues
Work to ensure an atmosphere of dignity, respect, compassion, and empathy
Maintain an accurate calendar and menu of services offered within the program space
Provide strengths-based supervision
Supervise, coach, support and evaluate direct reports
Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and that programs are fully staffed
In collaboration with supervisor, develop budget and work within the confines of that budget
Ensure that grant reports are timely and correct
Work with supervisor to identify financial need and areas for grant exploration
Create continuous quality improvement plan
Work supervisor and the director of data quality and assurance to ensure that data is collected and accurate
Work with the HR staff, Sr. Directors, and peers to ensure that staff is being trained on relevant and mandatory topics
Work to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and in good condition at all times
Ensure that the program is stocked with essential supplies while staying within budget
Work with facilities team and external contractors to ensure regular and spontaneous maintenance needs are met
Draft/implement development plan with Sr. Director of Adult Homeless Services and CSS Administrative staff to include all aspects of grant writing/proposal evaluation /management, special events, direct mail solicitations, acknowledgements, and donor data base
Implement community relations strategies with Sr. Director of Adult Homeless Services and CSS Development Department which may include public speaking, interviews, tours, production of brochures, newsletters, and other media relations materials
In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Adult Homeless Services and Administrative staff, monitor legislative activities, and help design/implement legislative strategies which may include preparing position papers, presentations, meetings with legislators and other government officials
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, business, or a related field. Four (4) years of experience can be substituted for the required education
Two (2) years of relevant work experience with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience
Knowledge of low barrier service delivery principles
Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care
Knowledge of basic facility management
Knowledge of Municipal, State of Alaska, and Federal licensing, policies, procedures, and other regulations related to emergency shelter provision
Knowledge of healthcare systems and the intersections of healthcare and homelessness
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
