Funding Analyst, Funding Operations - Mortgage Capital Markets Operations
Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas, and they are seeking a Funding Analyst for their Mortgage Capital Markets Operations. This role provides operational support to the business, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies while managing day-to-day funding activities and client communications.

Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day funding and paydown of loans against credit facility, including reconciling all client DDA funding and operating accounts intraday and at end of day
Track status of underlying loan collateral via reporting provided by collateral custodians
Provide clear, concise communication with clients and internal business partners… includes use of phones, email and internal chat messaging
Work to clear exceptions in funding and collateral exceptions (work with Risk to request extensions due to loan aging)
Escalate funding wires with AML / Sanctions and resolve client issues, as needed
Release interest in loans funded and paid off facility going to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae
Work with front office Banking and Risk teams to manage client relationship and ensure issues are escalated and information is properly documented and distributed to stakeholders
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
Develop a robust understanding of supported mortgage products and address internal inquiries in a timely & professional fashion, providing prompt resolutions & further troubleshooting issues as needed
Identify, create and/or maintain operational controls to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies in all processes
Clearly interpret support team with any ad-hoc work as needed, including but not limited to regulatory requests or special projects
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
