Responsibilities
All personnel must understand and practice Safety Absolutes and Safety policies and wear all PPE
Understands and follows the company requirements for ISO and SQF standards
Properly fill out documentation needed for PMs, Tool Room Work Log, timesheets, mold run sheets, Daily Machine Walkthrough, and other Tooling department documents
Assist team to ensure all projects are complete in the most efficient way possible
Clean all molds as scheduled by Tool Room Lead or higher positions within the department. Know the location of all cleaning supplies
Have basic hand tools, and understanding of tools needed in Tooling
Maintain all nozzle tips for molding machines and all mold hanging supplies. Able to order more when necessary
Maintain all electrical cords for molds and inventory of spare parts. Able to order more when necessary
Maintain all water and air hoses. Maintain inventory of spare parts to make new hoses. Able to order more when necessary
Maintain inventory of spare molding components needed for full cavitation. Work with Tooling Manager to send out for repair or order new components
Prepare molds for shipping/receiving and loading/unloading
Operate Injection Molding Machines to cycle tool, set die height, and bring up the heats using mold controllers when necessary
Properly water/air test and provide functional evaluation of all molds
Troubleshoot heater, thermocouple, & other mold controller related issues
Properly wire up heaters/thermocouples, manifolds, and splice wires
Troubleshoot all common tooling issues (ex. flash, shorts, core shift, etc.)
Assist in troubleshooting advanced molding issues, and determine if Molding or Maintenance are needed to assist in the solution
Obtain all certifications required for Tooling Department (ex. crane, forklift, LOTO, etc.)
Be prepared to come in early and/or stay late to accommodate scheduling department on mold change times
Hang all molds as scheduled by scheduling department. Able to properly connect all water, air, and electrical to the machine
Assist in all areas of Tool Room and on production floor on breakdowns
Be on-call on a rotation basis
Willing to participate in a group if needed (ex. safety, ISO, etc.)
Keep Tooling Manager informed of all relevant information
Pre-stage molds for following day
Arrive at workstation on time and ready to perform work assignments
Wear all safety equipment at all times as required by company policy
Keep all K.O. Bars in good working order
When molds with date-inserts are installed, ensure that the date is set correctly
Maintain a positive attitude to create a good work environment
Try to take breaks and lunches between mold changes. Alternate if necessary to ensure breaks and lunches are taken while also maintaining any urgent jobs
To operate all equipment (that the individual has been trained on) to perform necessary task
