The Child Center of NY is dedicated to strengthening children and families through skills and emotional support. The Program Aide will support the after-school program, ensuring a safe learning environment and facilitating activities for children.

Responsibilities

Prepare documentation for workshops and presentations

Manage online resources

Providing homework help, facilitating activities, and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours

Facilitate workshops for the participants; including preparing for workshops and documentation

Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance

Planning and promoting activities and events for children and youth

Assist and maintain in data collection and upkeep of participants documents

Assist tutors and activity specialist to manage and document behavior

Maintain supplies

Attend all necessary program meetings

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or GED required

Must have experience facilitating workshops

Experience working with children

Effective communications skills, both oral and written form

Excellent organizational skills essential to maintain accurate records

Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently

Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Interact professionally with participants, staff, clients and community partners in a professional manner

Proficient Microsoft Office Suite computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

Bilingual in one or more of the following: Spanish, Creole, Bengali and others based on client needs

Vocational or specialized training a plus
