Responsibilities
Lead and grow a software development team responsible for rethinking traditional data warehousing, analytics, and database architectures
Manage the design, implementation, test, and deployment of software
Conceive innovative new solutions for our customers, at the intersection of multiple fields: Big Data, analytics, warehousing, and machine learning
Mentor senior engineers and managers, provide leadership on complex technical issues, design tradeoffs, and feature and schedule prioritization
Work with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements, and influence our technical and business strategy
Help hire talented engineers and managers
Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design and extensible code
Be an advocate of industry best-practices to produce reliable, fault-torrent and dependable code
Code and test complex system modules; develop and leverage frameworks to be effective and efficient
Participate in architecture, design and code reviews to maintain our high development standards
Own system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
Collaborate and influence other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
Mentor other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team
Qualification
Required
3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of engineering experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
