Responsibilities
Schedule, dispatch, and coordinate inbound and outbound freight with carriers and drivers
Check in/out truck drivers and verify shipment documentation (BOLs, packing slips, manifests)
Communicate load status, delays, and changes to internal teams (warehouse, production, logistics)
Track shipments and update transportation logs and systems in real time
Assign dock doors and manage truck flow to avoid congestion or delays
Ensure shipments meet delivery schedules and customer requirements
Resolve transportation issues such as late arrivals, missing paperwork, or incorrect loads
Maintain accurate records of shipments, carrier performance, and delivery times
Follow safety, security, and company policies at all times
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong communication and coordination skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer skills (ERP, TMS, Excel, email)
Strong attention to detail and time management
Preferred
1–3 years of experience in traffic, dispatch, logistics, shipping, or manufacturing environment preferred
Experience working with carriers, freight scheduling, or dispatching
Familiarity with manufacturing or warehouse operations
Knowledge of shipping documents and transportation terminology
