Human Resources Intern

Covenant Living Communities and Services is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join their HR team. The intern will work on projects related to Compensation and Benefits, HR Shared Services, and gain exposure to HR Generalist responsibilities at a community level.

Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits – project centered on drafting updated Leave of Absence Policies and Procedures for a centralized LOA process
This work will include reviewing and recommending current paid time off policies
Making recommendations for refreshed policies
Creating communication plans
Creating change management plans (approximately 5 weeks full-time)
HR Shared Services and HR Technology – exposure to a broad view across all HR functional areas and some exposure to HR Technology. (approximately 5 weeks)
HR Generalist – An opportunity to work at a Covenant Living community to take part in HR generalist accountabilities, which could include (approximately 2 weeks unless TR/HRIS wants more time):
New employee onboarding and orientation
Employee relations issues
HR compliance
Employee engagement

Qualification

Required

Knowledge of Microsoft products: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong written and oral communication skills used in story telling
Strong time management and organizational skills
Critical thinking skills, along with good decision making and judgement
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
