Museum Digital Communications & Visitor Experience Specialist
The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum is dedicated to engaging audiences through its extensive textile collections and educational programs. The Museum Digital Communications & Visitor Experience Specialist will create and manage digital content while ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors through effective visitor experience strategies.

Responsibilities
Create, edit and schedule original content for the museum’s digital platforms, including websites, emails, blogs and social channels
Support student workers on digital media projects
Remain up to date on digital media best practices and trends, and pitch creative concepts for new initiatives, influencer outreach and campaigns
Develop, maintain and analyze key metrics for all museum digital platforms
Maintain museum public areas and wayfinding, and coordinate with GW facilities, security and museum staff to support a clean, safe and organized environment for visitors
Serve as the main liaison for front-of-house student workers, including organizing trainings and scheduling shifts
Support communications and visitor experience for the Artisans Gallery, as needed
Evaluate visitor feedback and advance improvements to the onsite experience
Additional support as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position
Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to deliver creative content
Organized with high quality standards and meticulous attention to detail
Comfort using social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
Successful experience coordinating projects or people, especially students
Diplomacy and creative problem-solving skills under pressure
Demonstrated interest in museums, art, history or world cultures
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google platforms and design/image-editing software
