The role involves supporting the Director of Tourism Development & Strategic Alliances in various event-related tasks including vendor relations, sponsorship coordination, and on-site execution.

Responsibilities
Reports to Director of Tourism Development & Strategic Alliances
Executing logistics, vendor Relations, & marketing duties
Assists with overall plan and concept of events
Assists in creating sponsorship presentations
Assists in coordinating sponsorship execution
Works to follow event budgets
Executes administrative duties, miscellaneous
Coordinates volunteer groups, charity groups, artists, & entertainers at events
Research and books special features to enhance event atmosphere/experience
Seeks and sells booth space to retail, arts, and craft vendors
Organizes financial and contractual paperwork
Works with F&B team to solidify food & beverage trucks/vendors
Coordinates with Marketing Team to design & order event merchandise (staff & on sale)
Prepare sponsor and media benefit packages
Prepares vendor & partner credential packets
Assists in coordinating vendor and equipment set-up and tear down plans
Coordinates on site execution of vendors, volunteers, charity groups, talent, artists, etc
Works to submit all event related permit applications
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent required
2-4 years related experience in event coordination, customer service or hospitality is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, which may include nights, weekends or holidays
Standing for long periods is normal and walking during events is expected
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred
Course work in event management, hospitality, recreational, or a related field
