Responsibilities
Operate CAD software and CNC manufacturer’s programming software to create and manage engineering drawings and NC files
Interpret third and first-angle orthographic projections, GD&T, and customer drawings/specifications to create engineering drawings
Facilitate production and technical communications between customers, sales, and production teams
Import CAD files into nesting software to generate NC files for CNC equipment. Identify appropriate applications (e.g., laser, oxyfuel, plasma, punching) as needed
Optimize material utilization and production efficiency by nesting parts on sheets or blanks
Program CNC equipment and document revisions as required
Assist with the design of tooling and fixtures
Maintain a thorough understanding of the equipment used for processing
Provide input on efficiency improvements and conduct cost-benefit analyses of new tooling and application considerations
Maintain an inventory list of tooling and cutting parameters
Keep program files and setup sheets organized and up-to-date
Perform other related duties as assigned to support department goals
Qualification
Required
2+ years of practical CAD programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Two-year technical degree in Computer Programming, Computer-Aided Design, or equivalent experience
Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
Demonstrated reliable work history
Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
