SIMULCAST TECHNICIAN

Batavia Downs Gaming is seeking a Simulcast Technician responsible for the coordination, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of simulcasting related equipment. The role involves performing routine maintenance, coordinating installations, and ensuring proper operation of communication systems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the installation of all simulcast equipment including the necessary site surveys, antenna locations, and site cabling
Perform routine and emergency service of equipment such as performance checks, antenna alignment, receiver programming, modulation levels, and replacement of faulty equipment
Field trouble calls from the branch offices and EZ Bet locations and coordinate with the Manager- Action Center Operations to implement the necessary course of corrective action which includes diagnosing faulty systems to its lowest component
Establish site distribution methods for remote sites, including EZ Bet locations. This includes all site cabling, determining signal strength to all equipment, preparing all cable terminations, and determining proper equipment needs
Work with outside repair vendors and the Manager- Action Center Operations when necessary to ensure that all equipment is repaired, replaced, or installed in a timely and efficient manner
Continually analyze and review networks and recommend enhancements or improvements in line with the ever-changing technology
Perform routine preventive maintenance of all audio-visual equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation
Work closely with various departments of the corporation to ensure proper receipt and transmission of information, data, and video
Coordinate data lines and voice lines with various communication companies
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

A thorough knowledge of the satellite communications field including experience with fixed and movable satellite systems, video distribution and cabling, and satellite equipment installation, set-up and diagnosis
Proficient in the use of signal strength meters, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and various hand tools
A high school diploma or GED
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of the foregoing experience and training sufficient to indicate the ability to effectively perform the required duties of the position
Must maintain a valid driver's license
Must be approved for and maintain a valid Video Lottery Gaming Employee Service license and racing license issued by the New York State Gaming Commission
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds at a time, including satellite dishes and fiber boxes
Ability to access and inspect areas of the facilities, including bending, crawling, and climbing extension ladders
Ability to operate heavy machinery, including scissor lifts and boom lifts
Ability to talk and hear in order to ensure proper communication
